Danny would
like to let you know his work here is done. He received a call, a sort
of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which
he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on
bonus, a reunion with family, friends and his dogs that he has not
seen in a long time.
His new mission takes him to a
wonderful place where he will be socializing, playing cards, gardening
and roaming the woods to his heart’s content. Music,
laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never have
to take insulin. He left detailed instructions for his wife, children
and grandchildren to celebrate his life here, which has now complete.
Low adherence to this instruction will not be
tolerated.
Danny left behind his loving, strong
wife Heather. His son, Trevor, to which he lovingly referred to as the
“mail man’s baby”, his daughter, Jill (Steve), who made him
a Papa to Ellie, Maggie and Arlo, his brothers, Johnny and Wayne, who
he was much better looking than and his incredible father, Albert, who
he loved dearly and was happy to make a part of his daily life,
playing cards and bingo with him. He is predeceased by his sweet
mother, Shirley and his brother, Ronnie.
Danny worked at Canada Post for a long
ass time, to which his favorite memory was retirement and the day
someone threw a cat at Dougie Cavanaugh. He made many life-long
friends, whom he treasured.
An informal gathering, in celebration of
Danny’s life, will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017
from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540
Woodstock Road, Fredericton.
We would like donations to go to ‘DunRoamin’ Stray and
Rescue in Florenceville, where his million dollar baby, Boo came from
or ‘God is Able’ Ministries where his wife Heather volunteers.
Weary of reading obituaries noting
someone’s courageous battle, Danny wanted it known he died as a result
of being a stubborn old bugger who didn’t really follow doctors orders
and only took his medicine properly as a result of his wife’s
insisitance.
As Danny would say, “That’s
life”. September 15, 1954 – December 19,
2017.
