Fitt,
Cyril William- It is with great sadness we announce the
passing of Cyril William Fitt, 71 of Marie Street, Lourdes on Friday
December 22, 2017 at home after a brief
illness.
Born in
New Glasgow he was a son of the late Sylvester and
Catherine(Pellerine)Fitt.
Cyril was
a life long resident of Lourdes where he was a member of Our Lady of
Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. Cyril was well known
throughout Pictou County as a self-employed candy salesman
“The Candy Man” and a bus
driver.
Cyril
will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather,
great-grandfather and brother. He is survived by his wife of
52 years, the former Ida (Ehler), daughters Darlene(Jerry)Munn, New
Brunswick; Karen(Fraser)Green, Debbie(Danny)Fitt, both of Stellarton;
grandchildren: PJ(Brittany)Stewart, Mandy(Robert)Little, Tyler and
Cole Green, Justin Fitt, all of Stellarton; great-grandchildren:
Cohen, Isla and Ellie Little, sisters: Marie(Allie)Vacheresse,
Evelina(Peter)Cripps, Kathy(Wayne)Otter, sister-in-law Marilyn Fitt, a
number of nieces and nephews, and an aunt
Johanna(Fitt)Hafey.
Cyril was
predeceased by his parents, brothers Clarence and Francis
Fitt.
Cremation
has taken place.
The
family will receive visitors from 7-9pm Wednesday December 27, 2017 at
the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel,
Stellarton.
A memorial mass will be held 11am Thursday
December 28, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church,
Stellarton with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson presiding.
Burial of ashes will take place in the parish
cemetery.
Memorial
donations in memory of Cyril may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital
Palliative Care Society or to the Canadian Cancer
Society.
