Courtney Geach – 2017

COURTNEY GEACH
October 18, 1936 – May 20 2017
With greatest sadness we announce the passing of Courtney Geach after a brief illness, peacefully at SDGH with his daughters at his side on May 20, 2017. Courtney will be lovingly remembered and always missed by daughters Linda (Roger) and Paula; grandchildren Matthew (Jessie), Kayla (Cody), Eric, Danielle and Larissa; only great grandchild Maverick; sister Margaret (Brian), sister-in-law Barbara; brother-in-law Brian (Caroline) ; and his pet dog Missy; along with many other relatives and friends in Cornwall, England. Courtney was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Pam in 2013 and father and mother, Horace and Ruby Geach.
Courtney was born and raised in Cornwall, England. He spent 2 years in the Army stationed in Bermuda, which he often talked about. He also had a huge love for the game of soccer, which he played as a boy and watched as much of through his entire life. In England he worked as a butcher running his own shop for many years before working at the English China Clay Pits and managing a mobile home park, camping site and store.
In 1981 he brought his family and emigrated to Canada and then spent 21 years working at the Manitoba Rolling Mill in Selkirk. He retired in 2002 and spent time travelling with Pam until her cancer diagnosis.
The family would like to thank all those providing care for Courtney: To Deanna and Brian thank you for the many meals taken to Dad in his last few months and for showing much concern for him. A very special thanks to Dr.R.R Lindenschmidt you are the BEST! And to the most wonderful nurse we could have asked for in our Dad’s final hours, Amy, you are an absolute gem and we are so thankful to have had you there to help us through the most difficult moments. Also thanks to Minister Ken Pawluk and Gilbart Funeral Home. In keeping with Courtney’s wishes, Cremation has taken place, and Private Family Memorial was held.
Each day you strived to live, your body too weak to be. Your love will live forever, since your heart has set you free. Now you walk so bravely, you feel the pain no more. Angels have come to guide you, and bring you to heavens door. Our lives have changed forever, since the day you passed away. In heaven you’ll be waiting, to meet us again someday.
