Lovingly Remembered
Cory Paul Womacks
June 27, 1975 – December 4, 2017
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son Cory Womacks at the age of 42 years.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret, and stepfather, Ted Bouwmeester; his father Dennis (Monica) Womacks; sister, Rhianon (Randy) Scott; nieces Hannah, Isabella, Alissa, Abbi, and Sophia, and nephew, Jack; niece, Cassia (Joe) Davy and their son, Wyatt; stepbrother, Adam (Maxine) Bouwmeester and their children, Adian, Addison, and Logan; stepsister, Robin (Jeff) Holman and their children, Keaton, Libby, and Brenner; and grandparents, Peggy and Alvin Womacks.
Cory also leaves to mourn his loss, his fellow co-worker and lifetime friend, Dino (Gillis) Cuthbert. He was predeceased by his nephew, Kaden Abelson; uncle, Garry Womacks; grandparents, Emilia and Paul Mudryk; and aunt, Karen McKinnon.
Cory was born in Calgary and raised in Slave Lake, Alberta. He enjoyed many summers on the beach and spending time with Grampa Al and Gramma Peggy at their cabin. He graduated from Roland Michener High School, winning several awards including the Governor General Medal. Cory graduated from the University of Alberta in 1998 with distinct honours in his Bachelor of Science and Computers. He loved computers, playing the piano, Star Wars, and Star Trek. He loved Lego and the Oilers but most of all, he loved his family.
There will be a memorial service in the spring of 2018. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Planned Canada International, STARS Air Ambulance, or to Canadian Blood Services.
