GOOD, Melville Clarence – Passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at his home in Guelph, Ontario just having celebrated his 90th birthday in June. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dorothy, whom he married on his 70th birthday. Mel was a northern boy who moved to St. Catharines as a young man, where he and Eva, his wife of 48 years, built their first home and raised their three daughters: Linda (John) Colley of Fenwick, Wanda (Gord) Turner of Thorold and Karen (Bob) Laurin of McKeller. Mel was Grandpa to Briar Manning of Gravenhurst and Stacey (Pat) Boyle of Chesterfield, Missouri. Mel will also be missed by his step children Sherry and Bruce, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mel worked in the paper industry throughout his career until retiring to Gravenhurst with Eva, who died in 1996. While living in Niagara, Mel was a volunteer with the fire department in St. Catharines, and Thorold, and a member of Trinity United Church. In his prime, he enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, camping, gardening and golfing. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, square dancing and was the ultimate Handyman. He was a hard worker, and a devoted husband and father.
