Obituary of Chester Gavel
Gavel, Chester Morse 88, passed away October 25, 2017 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Weymouth he was a son of the late Henry and Hazel (Brittain) Gavel. Chester loved raising cattle and horses and especially his oxen. He was a devoted member of the Gospel Hall. He is survived by sons, Barry (Neta) of Coldbrook, Luke of Comeau’s Hill; daughters, Alice Winchester of Springhill, Julia (Bill) Wildfong of Edmonton, Marion (Gerald) Coombs of Canning, Irma Parker of Cunard, Della (Brian) Read of Michigan, Pat Swinamer of Halifax, Anne Gavel (Richard Thompson) of Halifax, Jackie Gavel of Edmonton, Jenny Gavel of Yarmouth; sisters, Glenice Fulton of Kentville, June Lombard of Ashmore; brother, Emery (Louise) Gavel of Weymouth North; 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Phyllis; brothers, Pearly, Clarence, Winston, and Darrell. Visitation will be held Sunday October 29, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. at the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday from the Gospel Hall, Clementsvale. Burial will be in Clementsvale Cemetery. Donations in Chester’s memory may be sent to Mountain Lea Lodge. On line condolences may be sent to www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
