Charles “Charlie” McGaghey
1946-2017
The death of Charlie McGaghey occurred on Sunday, May 21,
2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born March 6, 1946, he was a
son of the late Ronald and Edna (Parlee) McGaghey.
Charlie was a resident at Seely Lodge. He loved listening to
country music. In his early years, he worked as a steel worker at the
Saint John Dry Dock, and volunteered with Lakewood
Headstart.
Charlie is survived by his brothers, Beverly (Louise) and
Brian (Kathy); sister, Edith Kinsella (Brian); and several nieces and
nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother,
Darren.
Arrangements are under the care of
Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint
John (634-7424). A funeral service will be held on
Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 12 noon from Brenan’s Chapel. The
family will receive visitors in the hour leading up to the service.
Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke
Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
