Obituary of Catherine Tinney
Born May 21, 1922 in Zone Township (Chatham-Kent) Catherine passed peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Grandview Lodge, Dunnville where she had resided for the past 6 1/2 years. Catherine was a dear soul and is survived by daughter Shirley (Bill Lawless), sons Jerry (Marianne) and Ron (Kathy). Dearly loved by her 6 grandchildren (Todd, Stephanie, Garth, Scott, Justin and Ryan) and 10 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Garnet (1986), her parents James and Elizabeth Mitchell, 4 sisters and 4 brothers all from the Glencoe/Windsor area. They moved to their farm in South Cayuga in the early 1950’s, later spending time in Kincardine and Bancroft area before retiring in Wainfleet. Catherine loved quilting and being with her family. The family will honour her life at a private family gathering. Interment will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Wainfleet. Donations in Catherine’s memory can be made to the Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation – ER Project.
