Obituary of Catherine Delaney
Passed peacefully away at the Long Term Care Facility, Carbonear on Friday, December 29, 2017, Catherine Delaney of Burnt Point, age 91 years. Predeceased by husband: Bernard; granddaughters: Tina and Nicole; sister: Mollie Maloney; brothers: Luke and Raymond. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Bernice Short, Mississauga, ON and Genevieve Shortt, Burnt Point; four sons: Eugene (Linda), Salmon Cove, Jerry (Helen), Luke (Donna), and Brian (Anne), all of Burnt Point; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one brother: Andrew (Dorothy, deceased) Oliver, Gull Island; two sisters: Lillian (Dominic, deceased) Power and Genevieve (Timothy, deceased) Delaney, both of Gull Island; family friend: Jean Delaney; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Saturday, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.; Sunday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Monday 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Monday, January 1, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, P.O. Box 79, Northern Bay, NL, A0A 3B0.
