2017
It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of our loving Father John Wayne Cartagenise “Duke” After a courageous battle with Cancer, he peacefully passed with dignity and pride at the Ian Anderson Hospice with his family by his side on Tuesday December 26th, 2017 in his 72nd year. He was a man of strength, courage, bravery, and inspiration and held in the highest regard by many touching lives on many spiritual levels. Sadly missed by his daughter and son-in-law Nicole and Frank Santelli, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Cathy Cartagenesi, sons Jason, and Nicolas Cartagenesi. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Josef and Anthony, Mathias, and Jason Jr. Deeply touched by his extended family, colleagues and friends. John was a sports enthusiast, football in particular, a positive force and mentor to many. His inspirational quotes, wisdom, and legacy will forever live in our hearts. His family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Ian Anderson Hospice for their round the clock care and compassion to John and his family during his final journey. Also a special thank you to Robb McDonald for his spiritual support when the family needed it the most.
As per John’s wishes, cremation has been arranged through Tranquilty Burial & Cremation Services Inc. A celebration of John’s life will take place on Saturday December 30, 2017 at 12:00 pm with visitation starting at 11:00 am, at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium, 737 Dundas St. E.
