BACKER (nee Therrien): Carmen Jeannine
Died peacefully at the Mattawa Hospital, surrounded by members of her family, on Wednesday March 15th. 2017. Carmen was the beloved wife of the late Harold Backer, she was 92 years old. Loving mother of Len Backer and his wife Nancy, Dale Jodouin, Judy Duval and her husband Jean-Luc all of Mattawa, Diane Golder of Wahnapitae and her daughter-in-law Claire Backer of North Bay. She was predeceased by her son Garry Backer, by her sons-in-law Andy Jodouin and Paul Golder and by her grandson Bobby. She will be lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren Bridgit, Jason, Scott, Kirk, Cory (Donna), Craig, Ashley, Caleb (Whitney), Brock, her 11 great grandchildren Alex, Mia, Carl, Sherry, Giulia, Anthony, Carson, Zoe, Carson, Kelora, Kenzy, Quinn and by her 5 great great grandchildren Callie, Karter, Eva, Sophia and Charlee. Carmen was also predeceased by her parents Ferdinand and Desideria Therrien and by her siblings Albert, Aurore, Valencia, John, Stella and Evelyn. Visitation for Carmen will be held at the Martyn &Sloan “Mattawa Chapel” on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, March 20th at 11:00 am. Spring Interment at St. Anne’s Cemetery.
