With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Shane at the young age of 34 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving daughter Tasha Young; his parents Ron and Shirley Brothen; his sister Angela Brothen; niece Zoey McEwen; grandmothers Augustine Evenson and Grace Brothen; aunts and uncles Donna Brothen, Ernie Evenson, Harvey (Cathie) Evenson, Arlene (Art) Molnar, and Harold Evenson, along with numerous cousins; his best friend Cameron Tabler; as well as his Schwabs family and so many other wonderful friends.
Shane began his life being born in Camrose, AB followed by moving to Leduc, AB at age 1. Shane enjoyed fixing things from a young age and that lead him into the career he loved. He was a mechanic at Schwabs in Leduc from 2003 and earned Grandmaster Technician from 2010 – 2016. Working at Schwabs, he met and made many friends. Shane was a giving soul who enjoyed doing random acts of kindness and encouraged others to do the same. He was always there when you needed a helping hand.
His love for his daughter Tasha was shown throughout everything he did. She was the light of his life and the reason he worked so hard. When she was born, he began the road to becoming the best father he could be.
Shane was predeceased by his niece Samantha McEwen, grandfathers Arne Brothen and Arlie Evenson, great-grandmother Elizabeth Viet, and Uncle Tom Brothen.
