Blair Eugene Cameron
1936-2016
Blair Eugene Cameron, 80, of Hillsborough passed away
unexpectedly on December 19th, 2016 at the Saint John Regional
Hospital.
Blair was born in Moncton, on November 19th, 1936, the son of
the late Blair F. and Villa (Berry) Cameron. He worked for CNR as a
crew dispatcher and was known by his CNR Buddies as
“Rawhide”. He loved animals especially dogs. He was a
Provincial Dog Constable and was also the Dog Constable for the
Village of Hillsborough. He had horses and was into horse racing for a
time. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch #6.
Blair was an avid pool player you could find him at the Press Club,
Air Force Club and the Legion showing off his smooth techniques at the
pool tables at least twice week. He enjoyed flea markets and yard
sales and was always on the look out for his little treasures. He
enjoyed camping and loved taking his motorhome to Nova Scotia and
Maine. Above all things he had a special place in his heart for his
family, he loved his shopping trips with his girls to Bangor and on
every Valentines Day he would hand deliver roses to all his girls. He
may have been gruff at times but his family knew his heart and he was
a big teddy bear. To his family Blair (Papa, Gramp and Dad) was their
whole world. They will cherish all the times and laughs they had
together. “Forever in our hearts.”
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Joan
(Barron) Cameron; daughters, Cindy Cameron (Richard Brewster) of
Dawson Settlement, Shelley Cameron (Mark McCabe) of Truro, Bonnie
Cameron (Danny Steeves) of Hillsborough and Amy Cameron-Dupuis (Pat)
of Pine Glen; and his son Jimmy Cameron (Paula) of Prosser Brook; his
treasured grandchildren, Ashley, Jesse, Jill, Mandy, Ivy, Jane, Jacob,
and Olivia; several great grandchildren; his brother, Gerald B.
Cameron (Ollie) of Moncton; sisters-in-law, Mary Cameron of Berryton
and Carol Cameron of Moncton; special aunt, Helen Cole of Riverview.
He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, by all his in-laws,
extended family and by his little canine friends, Charlie and
Rosie.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his daughter,
Nancy; infant brother, Reggie; brothers, Dale and Jack.
Honoring Blair’s own wishes there will be no visitation or
funeral service.
Those who wish, donations to the Kidney Foundation, Diabetes
Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated by the family.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral
Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB, E4H-3K2 734-2780
