Billy Faulkner – 2017

William (Bill) Faulkner, 66
Sydney Mines
We regret to announce the sudden passing of William (Bill) Faulkner, 66, on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines on November 4, 1950, he was the son of the late Harold and Delphine (Tobin) Faulkner. Billy was a member of Holy Family Parish, Sydney Mines.
In his earlier years, Billy was employed at Marine Atlantic as a stevedore. He also drove the tow truck for Northside Auto Salvage, and installed many satellite dishes all over Cape Breton Island.
Some of the things Billy enjoyed to do were camping and driving his race car at the races in Sydney, but his favourite thing was working on the cars with the boys.
Billy was a man with a big heart, and will be sadly missed by many people, but mostly his wife Sonia Melnick, his daughter Norma Jean Faulkner, sons Cyril and Jason Faulkner, and his lifelong friend George LaFosse. He will also be missed dearly by the Special Angel God sent him from heaven, his daughter-in-law Margaret Faulkner, who found no task too big or too small. Also left to mourn are his brothers George and Ralph (Dale) Faulkner, his sister Gail Faulkner, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son William Faulkner (Little Billy), and his brothers Kevin and Hughie Faulkner.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
