Obituary for Billie Hilaria Paul
Billie was born on June 15, 1930 at Fox Valley, Saskatchewan and passed away on May 5, 2017 at Dulcina Hospice, Calgary, Alberta. In 1946, she moved with her family to Kelowna, BC. In 1950 she went to Medicine Hat, AB where she met her husband, Robert Hammerschmid. They married in 1952 and had two children. In 1966 they moved to Calgary where she worked for L&M Plastics, and the Alberta Motor Association. Billie is survived by her daughter, Brenda Moss (John); son, Kelly Hammerschmid; and granddaughter, Allison Hammerschmid, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Billie was predeceased by her husband Robert; parents, Rochus and Marianna Paul; two sisters, Lea (Alf) Jensen and Rose Marie (Karl Spahl) Paul; and brothers, Jospeh, Otto, and Philip. Billie enjoyed some wonderful friends, sang in her church choir, ministered in Pastoral Care at her parish, and loved spending time with her precious granddaughter. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at Evan J Strong Funeral Services (5502 2 Street SW, Calgary) on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 7:00 pm, with a Prayer Service to follow at 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Place NW) on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at 11:00 am, with Father Raul Ranola, Presider. Graveside Service will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Medicine Hat, on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm, with Deacon John Moss, Presider. Flowers are graciously declined.
