Obituary Overview
Bernard James Watson
Bernard James Watson Age 61, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2017 at the QEII after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the sixth of ten children born to the late Robert and Lillian (Beaver) Watson and lived all his life in Halifax. Bernard worked with Sears Canada for many years and later, Sherlock Clothing, where he won the respect and friendships of his many co-workers who supported him throughout his illness. Bernard is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rosalind (Marchand); son, Mark (Janelle); his grandchildren, Benjamin, Reid, Emerson and Keenan, who were his pride and joy; brothers, Peter, Douglas (Kelly) and sisters, Carol (Joe), Patricia, Sandra (Ronald), Catherine (Danny) and Barbara (Randy) as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, William, sister, Deborah, great-niece, Sarah and nephews, Shane and Devon. The family extends their sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Howard Conter and his wife, Karen; the Doctors and Nursing Staff, especially Alex, Heather and Brenda, at the QEII (Unit 8.3) for the excellent care and compassion they extended to Bernard and his family during his illness. A very special thanks to Lindsay, RN, whose kindness and care made such a difference during a very difficult time. Cremation has taken place under the guidance of Atlantic Funeral Home, Bayers Rd. with visitation to take place on January 3, 2018, 2-5 PM and 7-9 PM. Service will be held on January 4, 2018, at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Atlantic Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. To all of you who knew and loved Bernard and extended your kindness and love to us, his family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Family flowers only please.
