It is with joyful hearts the family wishes to announce that
Basil Thomason of Tracy, NB, has entered his heavenly home and is now
resting with his Saviour, Jesus. Basil passed away December 13, 2016
at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital surrounded by his family. Basil
was born in Tracy, NB, on January 2, 1948 to the late William and Ruby
(Bunker) Thomason.
Basil was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for Tractors and
Equipment and he also worked at Stolt Sea Farm, a salmon hatchery, in
South Oromocto.
Basil is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia (Lord)
Thomason, his son, Chuck (Trina) of Fort McMurray, AB, and daughter,
Trudy (Josh) of Rusagonis, NB; five grandchildren, Mackenzie, William,
Abbeygail, Owen and Delaney; three step-grandchildren, Denver, Aslynn
and Brynn; two sisters, Audrey Coy of Hartland, NB and Erna Scribner
of Lincoln, NB; brother, Vernon (Marj) of Calgary, AB;
brothers-in-law, Rolly Lord (JoAnn) of Fredericton, NB, and Bernard
Lord (Lesley) of Quispamsis, NB; sisters-in-law, Gweneth Lord of
Fredericton Junction, NB and Sheila Young (Dave) of Nackawic, NB; as
well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Basil
was predeceased by his brother, Donald Bunker; brothers-in-law,
Glennie Lord and Blake MacLean; and sister-in-law, Delphine
MacLean.
Visitation will be held at Rusagonis Baptist Church on
Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 6-8 pm and on Friday,
December 16 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held from
Rusagonis Baptist Church on Saturday, December 17 at 2 pm with Rev.
Brent MacDonald officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Basil’s
coworkers, Markle Brawn, Shirley Roach-Albert, Glennie Eastwood,
Darren Robinson, Linda Nason, Louan Brawn, Dwane Carr and Eddie
Russell as well as the coffee shop boys, Matt Harris, Myles Harris,
Dick Hartt, Lyman Webb and Bryce Allen. Active pallbearers will be
Gary Carr, Gary Gray, Keenan Lord, Kevin Regnier, Dale Mowry and
grandson William Thomason. Interment will take place in Tracy Baptist
Cemetery at a later date.
For those who wish, donations in Basil’s memory can be made
to the Rusagonis Baptist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
