1936-2017
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Archie Godfrey,
husband of 44 years to Carol (Hornbrook) Godfrey, announces his
passing which occurred on Friday, September 1, 2017. Born on
September 9, 1936, he was a son to the late Archibald and Doris
(Holtom) Godfrey.
Archie was employed as a Bricklayer for over 25 years and a
Longshoreman, Local 273 for over 30. He was a man whose
Pentecostal faith was important to him. Archie was a member of the
Calvary Temple and Kings Way Assembly for many years. The
sun rose and set on his two grandsons, Aiden and
Spencer
Archie will be dearly missed by his surviving family, his
wife Carol, his sons: Scott Godfrey and Grant (Jamie) Godfrey, chosen
son Stephen Cameron, his grandchildren: Aiden and Spencer, his
siblings: Bill (Donna) Godfrey and Susan (Thane) Robson, sister-in-law
Elizabeth Godfrey, and his favourite furry companion, Eddy the cat,
along with many nieces, nephews and members of his extended family.
Besides his parents, Archie was predeceased by his step
mother Joan Godfrey and brother Andy Godfrey.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424) where visitation
will be held on Tuesday, September 5 from 2-4 and 6-8. A
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 6 at 12 PM from
Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel with interment to take place at
Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer’s Society of New
Brunswick
