Anneliese Christinck

Anneliese Christinck stepped into the loving arms of Jesus on March 2, 2017. A woman of bold faith, she often spoke of her anticipation of heaven. Born in Schneeberg, Germany, she was a child in World War II and worked at the family business of Gerber‘s Nursery in this village in the Ore Mountains. After 11 years of Russian occupation, the Gerber family, including Anneliese and her husband Henry, left everything behind to begin a new life in Canada. They started anew with a new Gerber‘s Nursery on Golden Lake. For many people she was “Mrs. Gerber” and she loved visiting with customers, encouraging them and sharing her faith. A smart business lady, she had a soft heart, as her family, friends, employees and customers knew. She loved reading and gave books sharing her faith to many who crossed her path.
Predeceased six weeks ago by her husband of almost 65 years, Anneliese died in her 86th year. She is survived by her deeply loved children, Ralph (Debbi), Frank, Rosemary (Tim) and was the adoring Oma of Elisa, Thomas, Robert, Sam and Sarah. Also mourning her loss are her brothers Herbert, Klaus (Valerie), Gerhard (Linda) and sister-in-law, Dorle, as well as her well-loved nieces, nephews and many relatives.
She was predeceased by her son, Thomas, and parents, Herbert and Maria, as well as brothers Frieder, Bernie and Werner and her sister-in-laws Ruth and Inge.
A special thanks to everyone at Caressant Care, Cobden, where she spent her final months and received compassionate care.
Visitation is at Zohr Funeral Home, Eganville on Monday, March 6 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Her funeral service follows at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Eganville, with internment immediately after at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Golden Lake.
In her memory the family has requested donations to the Christian Blind Mission which was dear to her heart or Caressant Care Cobden. Oma left this word of advice for her grandchildren. “The Lord is coming soon. Stay faithful! It will be overwhelming to meet HIM!”
We know she is rejoicing in heaven.
“For now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face.” 1 Cor 15:12
