Andrew Joseph Kyle passed away Thursday April 20th in Pembroke, Ontario in his 89th year.
Andy had a long and extremely successful 38 year career with Northern Telecom Starting in Installation he rose to position of District Supervisor Western Canada 1966 at which point he transferred to Sales. He opened The first USA Nortel Headquarters in Boston Massachusetts in 1973 Moved to Elmsford New York then in 1976 on to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
Andy was Sales Manager of the Year in 1981 and retired as Sales Manager of the Northeast Region at age 55 in 1983 to spend more time on Golden Lake and perfect his golf game
In his 30 plus years of retirement Andy enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies And interest Fishing, hunting (whether it be animals or fungi) Horseshoes, family history, Web design, Bonnechere Valley history, knot Tying, cheering on the Killaloe baseball team, playing with his Grandchildren, throwing birthday parties and selective cooking. We say Selective as he was well known for his Fish Appetizers, Scrambled Eggs And Flambe’d Tenderloins. He worked hard at his golf game twelve Months of the year for 20 years while he and Edie divided their time Between Golden Lake and Sarasota, Florida. Not sure he ever achieved The level of skill he wanted but he sure had fun trying. Andy was predeceased by his biggest fan and the love of his life Edith “Edie” Marion (Schwager) shortly after their 60th Wedding Anniversary in
December of 2014 as well as by his parents; Hazel Wilhelmina Victoria (Sharpe) and Norval Webster Kyle. A people person, a really wonderful Dad and Grandpa as well as a good friend, Andy’s company will be greatly Missed by those surviving him. His children; Barbara Kyle (Darrell King) of Stamford, Connecticut, James Kyle (Laurie Beckwith) of Beaver Falls,
Pennsylvania, Gerry Kyle (Lora) of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, his Grandchildren: Tyler King (Kristi) of Chicago, Illinois, Victoria King of Columbia, Missouri, and Trevor Kyle of West Lafayette, Indiana. His sister Mary Stevens (Wayne) of Missouri City, Texas, his brother Jack Kyle (Colleen) of St. Catharines, ON, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of “A Life Well Lived” for both Andy and Edie Kyle will be held
Saturday, April 29th 2017 at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Killaloe, ON.
Visitation will begin at 10am followed by the Service at 11am and a
Reception following that at The Sands on Golden Lake.
