Myles, Alonzo Lloyd, Age 82, passed away peacefully at Valley Regional hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Wallbrook, he was the son of the late Hardy and Florence (Atwell) Myles.
Alonzo will be remembered for his singing, storytelling, puzzle making, smile and generosity. Alonzo loved to make people laugh.
He spent many years at Levy’s Sawmill and then worked at Acadia University for almost 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Vera (Smith) Myles, daughters Glenda (Bill) Fisher; Debbie (Sandy) Barkhouse; son Alonzo “Lonny” (Darlene) Myles; his grandchildren Leslie; Nicole; Chalis; Krista and Adam; his great grandchildren Alyssa; Shawn; Chase and Emery; Alonzo will be missed by his sister Mildred and brothers Lorne and Billy.
Alonzo is predeceased by sisters Geraldine and Marion and brothers Richard and Wilfred and grandson Aron.
As Alonzo always said, “Bye for now.”
Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). Cremation has taken place. There will be a brief service at Wolfville Lion’s Hall at 1:00 p.m. On Saturday, January 28, with A Celebration of life to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Lung Association.
