Alfred Joseph Arseneault, widower of the late Sarah (Daigle) Arseneault, of Wellington St., passed away at his residence on Friday evening, October 20, 2017, at the age of 97.
Born in Eel River Bridge, on April 22, 1920, he was the son of the late Camille and Louise (Boudreau) Arseneault. He was a retired employee of Dict. # 10 School Board (custodian) and attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi.
He is survived by one daughter, Gloria Arseneault, of Dalhousie; one son, Gary Arseneault (Cynthia), of Miramichi; one sister, Alda Jenkins, of Eel River; one step daughter, Sheila Burden (Gordie), of Miramichi; four step sons, Maynard Jenkins (Lillian), of Bathurst, Floyd Jenkins (Cathy), of Lewiston, Maine, USA, Blaine Jenkins (Lillian), of Miramichi, Cyril Jenkins, of Eel River; seventeen grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Sarah Daigle, in 2001; two step daughters, Marina McDougall and Macrena Jamieson.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Monday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 11 am, conducted by Father Paul Doucette, assisted by Father Leon Creamer and Father John Keoughan. Interment will be in St. Michaels R.C. Cemetery, Miramichi.
