Obituary of Alexander Gair
ALEXANDER JAMES GAIR
Alex was born on December 3, 1926 in Winthorst, SK and passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Grace Hospice in Regina, SK at the age of 91 years old. He was predeceased by his parents, Simon and Helen Gair; brother Simon Gair; sisters-in law, Maxine Rotzien, Elsie Briltz, Henrietta Smith, and Mary Ellen Gair; brothers-in-law, Hugh Olver and Donald Smith. Alex is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Doreen Gair; children, Randall Gair, Kevin (Valerie) Gair, Brenda Gair, and Scott (Kate) Gair; grandchildren, Vanessa (Joe) Baker, Adrianna (Jaiden) Nikolic, Carson Mayer, and Taylor Mayer; great-grandchildren, Levi and Jake Baker; sister Flora Olver of Corning, SK; brother William Gair of Regina; brothers-in-law, Corly Briltz of Regina and Glen Rotzien of Emerson, MB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Alex lived in Indian Head for many years and worked at the Experimental Farm until retirement. He then enjoyed time with friends and family, especially attending the many activities and sporting events of his beloved grandchildren. Celebration of Life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at a later date in Indian Head, SK. Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6. The family wishes to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Regina Wascana Grace Hospice.
