Albert Charles Stairs
1934-2017
Albert C. Stairs of Hawkshaw, NB passed away on January 23, 2017 at
Upper River Valley Hospital. Albert was born at Pokiok, NB on
December 30, 1934, a son of the late Wallace and Helena (Pickard)
Stairs.
Albert was employed by NB Power until 1992, when he retired after 36
plus years. Dad was a hobbyist farmer and enjoyed doing this
throughout his life. Having five daughters and one son kept him busy.
Dad enjoyed caring for his children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren and was often tasked with holding the youngest in his
lap to entertain. He spent his last few years being taken good care
of at Riverside Court, Woodstock, NB.
He is survived by his children, Wanda McAllister (Calvin Bradley),
Richmond Corner, NB, Penny Quondam (Carlo), Saint John, Loretta Scott
(Randy), Hawkshaw, NB, Dianne Stairs (Krista Myers), Mount Unicke,
NS, Albert Stairs Jr. (Michelle), Oromocto and Dawn Stairs, Nelson,
BC; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson (Patrick Seely), Peter
McAllister (Barbie), Christina Franks (Jay), Alea Quondam (Ethan
Noel), Teresa Quondam (Jon MacMullin), David Scott (Emily Thomas),
Ethan Stairs and Kayleigh Stairs; seven great grandchildren, Tamara,
Brandon, Izabella, Caitlyn, Connor, Anna and Natalie; a sister,
Eleanor Graham and a brother, William Stairs (Betty); a sister-in-law,
Ruth Webber; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Eileen
(Briggs) Stairs; an infant son Ricky; a son-in-law Ronnie McAllister;
a grandson-in-law Corey Anderson; a brother David Stairs and a
brother-in-law Arthur Graham.
At Albert’s request there will be no funeral service, but family
will receive visitors at a celebration of his life at Flewelling
Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Saturday, January 28,
2017 from 2 to 4 pm. Interment will be later at Otis Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Albert, the family
has suggested the Otis Cemetery, Kidney Foundation or a charity of the
donor’s choice.
