Al Hall, WWII Vet, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at The Village Senior’s Community, Hanover on Sunday, October 22, 2017. He was 91.
Born on February 1, 1926 on the homestead, near Keady, son of Albert and Euphemia (nee Harbottle) Hall. Al and Mary moved to Hanover in 1954 to begin his employment with Al “Mac” MacMicking at MacMicking Motors. Along the way he purchased the business from Mac and began a longstanding career with his favourite “FORD MOTOR COMPANY”! Al was very active throughout the community and was a big supporter of Hanover’s events. As the owner and operator of MacMicking Motors, Al will be remembered by former clients, colleauges and friends not only as a businessman but a man who loved what he did. He was proud to own and operate MacMicking Motors in Hanover until his retirement. Just as owning his own business was his heart and soul, so was taking part in various clubs. He was a former Kinsman, member of the Curling Club as well as the Royal Canadian Legion.
Survived by loving and devoted wife Mary (nee Nicol) Hall of Hanover. Loved father of Sherry (Pud) Wood of Hanover and Herb (Suzanne) Hall of Stoney Plain, Alberta. Watching his grandchildren grow brought him great joy and Shannon Marshall (Neal), Derek Wood, Mindy Hall (Tim), Jason Hall (Kristin) will miss him dearly. He was adored by his great grandchildren Xander, Colin, Kayden, Ben, Hannah. Predeceased by infant son Allen, sisters Ruth Bailey, Mary Bowman, Lil Trelford and brother Earl Hall.
