Adeline Phyllis Calkins

Adeline Phyllis Calkins (nee Mickey) of Lacombe, passed away peacefully Feb. 06, 2017 at Lacombe Health Centre at the age of 87 years. Addie was born on the farm at Springdale, Alberta, west of Ponoka. She married Cork in 1948. Together, they moved to Lacombe and raised their family. Lacombe was home for 68 years.
Addie is survived by her husband Alvin Dwight “Cork”; son Bob (Joan) Calkins, daughters Debby (Dean) Watkiss and Lorie (Stan) Schulmeister; brother Frank Mickey and sister Lorraine Venables; brothers-in-law Wes Calkins and Jack Morgan; sisters-in-law Barbara Calkins, Jacqueline Calkins and Louise Arts; grandchildren Stacey (Ken) Davidson, Clarke (Kelly) Watkiss, Sarah (Nigel) Watkiss, Warren Schulmeister and Clinton Schulmeister; 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel (6120 Hwy 2A, Lacombe). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lacombe Hospital Auxiliary (5430-47 Ave, Lacombe, AB T4L 1G8).
