Obituary for John Antonio Moio
MOIO, John Antonio – Passed away peacefully at the Port Colborne Hospital on Sunday, December 10, 2017 in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy. Cherished father of Gary Scott (Lynn), Greg Scott (Gail) and Donna Maurice (Claude). Proud and loving grandfather of Nathan Scott (Michelle), Michael Scott (Julie), Kevin Scott (Danielle), Gord Scott, Melissa Ridley (Neal), Laura Gibson (Dean), Tracy Maurice (Tommy Crane) and great-grandfather of Lochlan, Kian, Aubree, Carlee, Dylan, Zander, Ivy, Taylor and Jordan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Dominic and Carmela Moio, son Randy, brother Bruno and sister Catharine.
John was a proud Veteran of WWII and retired from Atlas Steels after many years of service. He and Dorothy enjoyed travelling, gardening and spending time with family and friends during their retirement. A lover of music and a talented musician his most favored horn was the saxophone and he played it magically in many venues over the years, including as a member of the former band, “Dreamers”.
The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Wednesday, December 13th from 6 – 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Cudney Chapel on Thursday, December 14th at 11 a.m. followed by Rite of Committal in Holy Cross Cemetery.
