Rita Gagne nee Bissonnette version anglaise 2017

2017
An exceptional woman has left us. On November 29, 2017, Mrs. Rita Bissonnette Gagné, wife of the late Jean H. Gagné, and daughter of the late Dr. J. Eugène Bissonnette and Maud McClish, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 years, surrounded by her children.
She is survived by her eight children: Kathleen-Joan (Daniel Daviau), Rita-Rose (Luc Béliveau), Vincent (Ines Lenzi), Martin (Mireille Beauséjour), Jean M. (Marie Constantin), Paule (Ross Stevenson), Ann (Anthony Sehon) and Maud (Robert Langevin); her grandchildren Valérie Gagné-Langevin (Hussein Jezzini), Jean-Philippe (Diana Bedoya), Pierre-Thomas (Geneviève Gagnon), Louis-Vincent and Caroline Gagné, Martin-Simon (Gabrielle Deaudelin Saint-Martin) and Hélène Beauséjour-Gagné, Béatrice Stella Gagné, as well as Caitlin Sehon; her great-grand-children Alissar Jezzini, Ève and Philippe Gagné; her brother, Jacques Bissonnette (Francine Osborne) and beloved sisters-in-law, Sister Élisabeth Gagné, s.n.j.m., Louise Brassard and Louise Simard; as well as her nephews and nieces in both the Bissonnette and Gagné families; and many cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her other siblings and their spouses, André (Édith Duguay), Cécile (first husband Charles Bergeron, and second husband Jean-Paul Cloutier) and Jean-Paul, as well as her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in the Gagné family.
Rita Bissonnette completed her classical studies at Collège Jésus-Marie in Quebec City and was an accomplished musician. Gifted with a mezzo-soprano voice, she enlivened many a get-together with family and friends. Between 1950 and 1965, she bore eight children and dedicated herself to raising them according to her values: sharing, helping others, love, honesty, conscientiousness and determination. Also a great sportswoman, Mrs. Bissonnette introduced her children to several summer and winter sports. Throughout her life, Rita Bissonnette put her family first. She was a strong advocate of peace and harmony, treating everyone she met with compassion and empathy.
Her children wish to express their gratitude to Diane Drapeau and Diane Therrien, who accompanied their mother in the last years of her life with great love, care and understanding.
Her children also wish to thank the members of the geriatric team, as well as the doctors and staff of the palliative care wing, of the Centre hospitalier de L’Enfant-Jésus for the dedicated care they provided to their mother throughout her hospitalization.
Donations may be made to the Fondation de l’Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec (IUCPQ) (www.jedonneenligne.org/fondation-iucpq/DI2017) or the Fondation pour les aînés et l’innovation sociale (www.jedonneenligne.org/fondationfais). Envelopes will also be available at the funeral complex.
