Joseph Cormack

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joe Cormack announces his passing at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook on the morning of Wednesday, March 29, 2017.
Joe was born on the Bert Bolton family farm, one mile west of the Cormack family farm near Dodsland, SK on January 28, 1927. He spent his first 23 years on the family farm and then moved to Cranbrook with his uncle Joe in 1948. In 1950 Joe started work at CP Rail and for the next 36 years kept the trains running. He retired in 1986 and perfected his retiree skills over the next 30 plus years. Many people enriched his life over those years and for that we are eternally grateful.

Joe was predeceased by his wife Olive, his mother Isabella, his father Henry, his step-mother Freida, his brother George, his sons Lane and Craig and his grandchildren Tyson and Jessica.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm followed by a gathering at the family home.
