It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Lucien Erdahl, aged 76, at the Chinook Hospice Centre in Calgary, AB on December 8, 2016.
Gary was born on July 8, 1940 in Trail, BC to Lucy (nee Gavroy) and Albert Herman Erdahl. He was raised in Regina, SK and was proud to be a graduate of The University of Saskatchewan. Gary worked for thirty years at Pan Canadian Petroleum in Calgary. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and family was his passion.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Waltraud/Trudy (nee Lientscher), four children: Monica Drake (John), Vanessa Pelletier (Gerard), Jennifer Mah (Standly) and Justin Erdahl (Leslie), nine grandchildren: Jennifer, Katherine, Marissa, Jessica, Brayden, Stephanie, Rachel, Jordon and Trevor and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Alan Erdahl (Annette). The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers at the Chinook Hospice for their loving care.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at St. Mary’s Cathedral (219 – 18th Ave SW) at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
