It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald Edmund Roberts (Ron/Ronnie) announce his passing at Northumberland Hills Hospital on March 11, 2025 in his 76th year.
Beloved husband of the late Lynda Louise Roberts (nee Bell). Adored and cherished father of daughter Jennifer (Claude) and son Ian. Dear brother of Ed Roberts (Peggy) of Newfoundland. Loving grandfather to Dalton, Ryan and R.J.
Ron will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and his many friends.
Dad will be incredibly missed by many. His down-to-earth nature, honesty, easy-going attitude, sense of humour, hard-work ethic, wittiness and cleverness were just a few of the attributes that made him enchanting to others. Dad was an avid non-fiction reader with a thirst for knowledge, sharing that knowledge with anyone and everyone who would listen. He was a fantastic cook who thoroughly enjoyed cooking for others. His gardening and wood-working projects were nothing short of meticulous.
Dad was the life of the party, always requesting to hear Mr. Bojangles and listen to Tom Petty songs. He would always make us laugh. His favourite saying “I hear nothing, I see nothing, I know nothing”. He always preferred to be on the neutral side of things.
Dad was a fighter, the epitome of a stubborn “Newfie” he would say. He hung on as long as he could while minimizing his pain and struggles. And although we will miss him immensely, he is breathing easy now, struggling no longer and is reunited with our mom in Heaven.
A celebration of life to be potentially determined at a later date. Dad’s wishes were to have his ashes scattered in Newfoundland (home) near the Atlantic Ocean.
