ROMSES, Donald Roland “Don”
December 29, 1928 — February 26, 2025
Don Romses was born on December 29, 1928, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and passed away peacefully in Kelowna, BC, on February 26, 2025, at Kelowna General Hospital, at the age of 96. He is survived by his sons, Donald and Kelly; grandchildren, Michael and Sage; his brother Roger; and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty, and his brother Robert.
Don had a long career in road construction, but he could do just about anything – plumbing, carpentry, mechanics – you name it! Stubborn to a fault? Absolutely. But we wouldn’t have had him any other way. He was a stern father, but that sternness came from deep love for his boys.
When the family lived on the coast, Don loved taking the boat out on weekends to explore the islands. In his later years, he found joy at the casino, playing the slots – and he actually won! Lady Luck always seemed to be on his side.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the cemetery in Peachland, BC.
Memorial donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
