It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Paul Joseph Bissonnette at the age of 77. Paul peacefully departed on February 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Born and raised in North Bay, Paul’s roots ran deep in the community he cherished.
Paul was the son of the late Anthony and Marie Bissonnette. He was a proud father to his sons Pete and Eric, adored life-partner of Elsie Wilkinson, and a doting grandfather to Hunter, Liam, Jenna, Kayla, Hannah, and Joshua. Paul shared a special bond with his sister Suzy Peterson, brothers Geoffrey, and Jim.
Throughout his career in sales, including many memorable years at Canadian Bearings in North Bay, Paul found joy in his work and touched the lives of many. An avid music enthusiast, Paul enjoyed writing and recording music, creating intricate miniature train villages, and spending time in his beloved garden. He took great pleasure in engaging in lively games of “Bissonnette bocce” with friends and family. Above all, Paul’s children were very important to him and he never hesitated to brag a little about them.
A celebration of Paul’s life will take place on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Callander Legion. Family and friends are invited to join us in sharing stories and reminiscing about the beautiful memories we have of Paul.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Bay Regional Health Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to express their gratitude to the paramedics and staff at the Regional Health Centre for their compassionate care. Your kindness and support during this difficult time are truly appreciated.
