Peacefully, on February 20th, 2025, Olga Tymchyzn reposed in the Lord at the age of 102 at Holy Family Home in Winnipeg.
Olga was predeceased by her husband Joseph Tymchyzyn, parents Wasyl and Antonia Zabrocki, brothers George and Steve, sisters Frances, Anne and Josie and her niece Shirley (Lisowski). She is survived by great nephews Mike (Cheryl) Lisowski and David (Tamara) Lisowski and great, great nephews Joshua, Isaac and Benjamin Lisowski.
Olga was born in Winnipeg on January 27th, 1923 and was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. She was active in the parish Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League(UCWLC) and served as president for a number of terms. She was also active with the parish Seniors group.
Olga worked at Shore’s Candy (later Paulin-Chambers) for many years and made many friends there. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family.
Many thanks to the Basilian Fathers, Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate, Dr’s Andrea and Terry Babick, and the Staff of Holy Family Home for their help in her final years. Donations may be made in Olga’s name to the SSMI Lubov Foundation.
Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, February 27 at 10:30 AM at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue, Winnipeg, with a Basilian Father officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery with a reception after in the parish hall.
