Muriel McRae
Passed away peacefully at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 15, 2025, Muriel McRae (nee Smirle) of Winchester, age 84. Beloved wife of the late Clare McRae. Loving mother of Scott McRae (Allison Risebrough) of Richmond. Muriel will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Jake and Melanie. Dear sister-in-law of Bert Reveler of Ottawa and Eldon York of Chesterville. She was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Alice Smirle (nee Summers), her grandson Collin McRae, her sisters Vera Boothe (Stan), Joyce Styles (Carl). Joan Reveler and Fern York and her brothers Wilson (Barb) and Eldon Smirle. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements
Friends may call at the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home in Chesterville on Friday, May 23rd from noon until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Goldfield Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion in Finch. Donations to Winchester Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. If you are making your donation online or by cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift “please notify the family”.
