Mary Margaret Dehens passed away peacefully in Wallaceburg on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the age of 90. Mary was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1997. Survived by Dan Dehens and his wife Cheryl. Survived by 2 granddaughters and their husbands; Trisha Polkinghorne (Jon) and Nicole Yazbeck (Mike). Predeceased by her grandson David in 2005. Mary has 4 great grandchildren; Kole & Logan Polkinghorne and John & Brooke Yazbeck. Predeceased by parents Neil & Mary Lovell, in-laws Alfonse & Maria Dehens and brothers and sisters Annie Smith (Donald), Willis Lovell (Helen), Kenneth Lovell (Bella) and Alvie Lovell (Yvonne). Survived by 1 sister-in-law Jenny Sharpe & the late Robert. Predeceased by brother-in-law Henri & Denise Dehens. Very good friends of Helen & Jack McLeod and families.
Mary was a pioneer member of the CBD Club in Wallaceburg. She was the best grandma and great grandma a person could ever have. From her spunky attitude, caring heart and love for cards she was the best of the best with endless supplies of love, pie, cookies, cards and shenanigans.
A private family interment in Riverview Cemetery will be held at a later date. Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231) has been entrusted with the arrangements. If desired, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.
