It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing,
with her family by her side, in her 91st year, of our beloved mother,
Margaret Celetta MacMillan (nee MacKenzie) on Friday, February 14th,
2025 at her home in West Cape where she resided for 73 years. Born in
Springfield West on June 13th, 1934 to the late Lewis and Annie Belle
(Gillis) MacKenzie, she married Albert (passed in 1978) and moved to
The Farm on the Shore Road in 1951 where she has spent those many
years being active as a wife, mother, neighbor, faithful member of
Cape Wolfe United Church, community volunteer, bingo player, harness
racing fan, Maple Leaf fan and Blue Jays fan among many other things.
In addition, she spent countless hours in the local rinks cheering on
family members at their hockey games.
Margaret, our much cherished mother, is survived by Blair,
Iva Griffin, Ivan (Juliette), Kevin (Priscilla), Nancy, Vance, Ian
(Cathy), Leita (Leigh) Chisholm, Chris (Dana) and son in law Kirk
Taylor. She was a fun, loving and treasured grandmother, great
grandmother and great-great- grandmother to many who will dearly miss
her presence at the farm and in their lives. As the last surviving
aunt of both the MacKenzie and MacMillan families, she will also be
greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews and their
families.
Besides her husband and parents, Margaret was predeceased by
infant daughter in 1965, son in law Vincent Griffin in 1981, son Dale
in 1998 and daughter Valerie Taylor in 2012. She was also predeceased
by her siblings and in-laws Bernice (Jamie) MacWilliams, Josie
(Lowell) Clements, Charlie (Verna), Annie Mae (Lyle) Sweezy, Lewis
(Jeannette), Pearl (Foster) Hierlihy / (Syd) Parker, Jack (Olive),
Albert (Lila Mae), Alwyn (John) Smallman, Donnie, Lila Naomi, Gladys
