It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lynn Evans Taplay
into God’s care on Wednesday January 22, 2025.
She was at her new residence Parkland, Ancaster, surrounded by loving family and friends, and went peacefully.
Lynn was in her 71st year, born in Wdsk March 27, 1954 the third child
of Jack and Betty (Hunter)Taplay, deceased.
She is survived by her loving siblings Carol, Ray (Pat), and Keith (Dawn),
by her nephews David (Teresa), John (Carrie) and by her great nephews and nieces
Connor, Nathan, Breanna and Chloe. Also fondly remembered by her cousin
Miriam and family.
Lynn was a longtime employee of Samuel Steel, Hamilton, where she
retired as Customs Manager after twenty years of exemplary service.
Lynn enjoyed many facets of life, and gave wholeheartedly to whatever
she put her mind to.
She was an avid gardener, a superb cook and enjoyed her many wonderful neighbours and friends.
Often, Lynn would escape north to hike, bike and take art classes.
Her love of travel took her to cooking classes in Italy, to the home of our Mother in Scotland and to kiss the cod in Newfoundland.
She also enjoyed river cruises on the Danube and the Rhone rivers with friends.
In her spare time, she made beautiful handmade cards, did needle felting
and enjoyed many outings on her motorcycle.
Lynn was a volunteer and member for the Scottish Country Dance, on the Management
Team for the Hamilton branch and editor of the newsletter for the White Cockade.
She also volunteered at the Ancaster Legion, where she worked at the
Friday night fish fry.
Lynn adored her feline companions Hanna and Sadie, who brought her
immense comfort and joy during her lifetime.
The family are planning an interment and celebration of life for Lynn in the Spring. Cremation has taken place.
