Lyle Melvin King, 73, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, at Abbotsford Regional Hospital in British Columbia following a sudden cardiac arrest.
Born on December 31, 1951, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Lyle was a gifted musician who shared his talents as a keyboardist and vocalist with several bands throughout his career. His passion for music took him on tours across Canada and the United States and ultimately inspired him to open Granville Pianos, a business he proudly owned and operated for over two decades.
In 1978, Lyle settled in Coquitlam, British Columbia, to start a family of his own. He is fondly remembered as a devoted father and a caring provider. Beyond his musical pursuits, Lyle found joy in camping, fishing, world travel, and construction. He developed several homes for his family and was widely appreciated as a skilled handyman by those who knew him.
Lyle’s memory lives on through his daughter Vanessa and son Trevor; his sister Audrey Reiss and her husband Calvin; and his nieces Kasey and Tamara. He was predeceased by his parents Melvin and May King and his eldest son Justin.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Cyndi, the paramedics, and the staff at Abbotsford Regional Hospital for their compassionate care during Lyle’s final days.
A celebration of Lyle’s life will be announced in the coming months. His legacy of creativity, kindness, and dedication will remain an enduring source of inspiration to all who knew him.
