Kenneth Elton Weston
1941-2025
It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce
the passing of Kenneth Elton Weston, 83, of Moncton at the
Moncton City Hospital on February 1st, 2025. Born in New Horton, NB,
he was the son of the late Wilbur Wainwright and Ruby (McKinley)
Weston.
Kenneth spent a lot of his younger years on
Grindstone Island where his father was the lightkeeper and fisherman.
He worked at Raynor Construction in 1956, at Modern Construction in
1961, and then in 1966 he went to MacDonald Paving where he retired in
2001. During this time he was also a licensed lobster
fisherman. Not being one to sit idle, Kenneth came out of
retirement and took a part-time job at Odesa from
2008-2016. His family shared a passion for
music. Many memories were made in his family singing group
The Fundy Trailers. He loved reminiscing about
times past and often referred to them as the good old
days.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Marie (Killam)
Weston; sons, Jeff Weston (Jill), Craig Weston; grandchildren, Chad,
Brooke and Taylor; great grandchildren, Emma and Jaxson; sister, Betty
Weston (John); sister-in-law, Norma Weston. He will also be
missed by several nieces and nephews, all his extended family and good
friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife,
Maxine (Fullerton); brothers, Fred and Victor (Mary); sister, Freda
Kennie (Donald).
Honouring Kenneth’s own wishes, there will be no
visitation. A Graveside Memorial Service will take place in
the Bayview Cemetery, Harvey, NB at a later
date.
For those who wish, donations to the New Horton Baptist
Church would be greatly appreciated.
