Kenny, as he was affectionately known, passed away on January 31st , 2025 at the age of 76. He was a dedicated husband and best friend to Shirley Jackson, his loving wife of 44 years, and adored by his four daughters, Kelly (Scott Moffatt) Jackson, Karie (Mike) Hall, Sara (Chris) Poulakis, and Jessie (Ian) Haldane.
Ken was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren, Racquelle, Tucker, Jackson, Cassidy, Christopher, Nicole, Cierra, and Rayne, as well as three great-grandchildren, Myles, Wyatt and Rhythm.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings Barbara (Barry) Kenshol, Rodger (predeceased by Lila) Jackson, Nancy (Rick) Moir, and Kevin (Lynne) Jackson, brother-in-law Joe (Debbie) Hilaire as well as by his extended family and good friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Hugh Jackson & Miriam Scott and his brother Ronald Jackson (survived by Brenda).
From mail boy to shipping warehouse supervisor, Ken retired from Hiram Walker’s after 30 years of service. Even in retirement, he was never one to sit idle. He became a service advisor for Dan Kane Chev Olds and later worked for Belleview Golf Club where he enjoyed cutting fairways and detailing golf carts. No job was too small.
Being an avid golfer and early riser meant tee off time was often at 6 am sharp! Ken kept his vehicles spotless and was known for being meticulous. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humour. Ken was loved by everyone he met.
In high school Ken played football for the Kennedy Clippers and was known to be a terror on the field. After graduating he played for AKO and won the Eastern Championship Title in 1969 and received an award for most dedicated player. In later years, he returned as a coach. Ken tried out for the Ottawa Rough Riders but was cut. He had the heart and the drive but could not maintain the extra 60 lbs needed! Ken also enjoyed fastball, which he played during his time at Hiram Walker’s.
