It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joanne Plante on March 24, 2025, at the age of 61. Joanne was a beloved mother, sister, and daughter whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Joanne’s greatest joy in life was her son, Roy, whom she cherished with all her heart. Her devotion and unconditional love for him were evident in everything that she did.
Known for her wonderful sense of humor, Joanne had a gift for making people laugh and brightening any room with her infectious laugh. Her compassion and caring nature extended not only to her family, but also to the many cats she lovingly cared for over the years. Joanne had a soft spot for animals and found joy and comfort in their company.
Joanne never passed up an opportunity to spin and jive to a good disco tune, she also loved to unwind with a good movie, often losing herself in stories that brought her laughter and allowed her to dream. Whether it was a classic favorite or a new release, she appreciated the magic of cinema and the escape it provided.
Joanne is survived by her son Roy Plante, her mother Rita Tomlinson, and her devoted siblings: Linda, Irene, Jacques and Kim. She was a cherished sister whose bond with her family was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Joanne’s legacy and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A private service will be held to honor Joanne’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Timmins & District Humane Society or Alzheimer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre.
Rest easy, Joanne. Your gentle spirit and loving heart will forever be with us.
