Janet Louise Forward (nee Day)
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Janet on February 9th, 2025.
Predeceased by her mother Margaret Day (2020), and her brother Gregory (2019), her-in-laws Oscar (2018) and Elizabeth (2019) Forward , her grandparents Wilfred ( Foof) and Violet (Dot) Dawe, William and Gladys Day.
Left with broken hearts but beautiful memories are her husband, Wayne and two beautiful daughters Ashlee Turpin (Steven) and Gillian O’Neill (Jamie) and also her “cabin buddy” her father Melville (Mick) Day who will miss her dearly . Also left with loving memories are her sisters Susan Saunders ( David) and Peggy Tilley (John), sister- in -law Debbie, and Jeannie Baldwin ( Philip’s mom) , nephews Philip and Christopher Day and Rhys Saunders . She also leaves behind many aunts , uncles , and cousins of the Dawe, Day, Forward, O’reilly and Billard families.
Janet’s pride and joy were her 4 adoring grandchildren , Harlee and Callie Turpin , and Jensen and Madelyn O’Neill. The memories they made in the last 6 years will last their lifetimes .
Janet was a friend to all, and if you could call yourself her friend , you would know the special bond you shared . While there are too many to name , a few dear and close to her heart are her Camp Chimo girls , the Plaza Bowl YBC crowd and all her Guiding friends .
Wayne , Ashlee and Gillian would like to acknowledge and thank all of those who helped them in special ways throughout Janet’s journey . Vi and Bert Turpin, Gerry O’Neill, Peg Burton and Phil Hiscock , Marcia White and the hospital staff at the HSC 4 south A , 4 west at St. Clare’s , and lastly the Kidney Care Centre.
Visitation will be at Barrett’s Funeral Home , Hamilton Avenue on Sunday February 16th, 2025 from 12pm- 9pm. Funeral service will take place at Wesley United Church , Patrick street on Monday , February 17th at 2:00pm . Inurnment will take place at a later date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
No flowers by request, however if you wish , you may make a donation in Janet’s memory to one of her favourite charities, Wesley United Church, VOWR, or The Rock Wildlife Rescue or to a charity of your choice .
