It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ivor on January 6th after his battle with ALS at the age of 83.
Ivor was born in England and emigrated to Canada in 1965 to raise a family and set down roots in Dundas for over 50 years.
A loving family man, he provided strength, warmth and wisdom to his children Derek (Heather) and Jackee (Phil), sisters Edith and Valerie, grand children Jared, Candice, Brooklyn, Meghan, Samantha, Nolan, Maggie and Evalina, great grand children Brysen, Malayah, Briella, Laura, Oliver and Creed. Ivor was predeceased by his wife Joyce.
Ivor worked at the Hamilton Firestone tire plant until its closure and then as a member of the maintenance team at the Halton Police Department until his retirement. He shared his strong singing voice as a proud member of the Halton Police Chorus continuing to perform with them into retirement.
Ivor’s kindness to friends, family and anyone he met was boundless. Known for a great sense of humour and his smile, he would do anything he could to listen, help and support others.
To his grandchildren and great-grand children, he was Pop and when Pop was around no one else mattered as they loved every minute spent with him.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. Friends wishing to honour Ivor are asked to consider a donation to World Vision worldvision.ca or ALS research als.ca
