It is with deep sadness we share the passing of Howard Uttley Moore on April 26, 2025 in Oshawa, Ontario at the age of 79. Howard was born November 24, 1945 in East Leicester, Nova Scotia and is predeceased by spouse Margaret (Read). He is survived by children Cheryl (Nurudeen “BJ”) and Christopher (Jacqueline), and grandchildren Alexander, Natalie and Margaret. The fourth oldest of 17 children born to Sheldon and Isabel Moore, as a teenager, Howard moved from Nova Scotia to Ontario, eventually settling in Port Perry, marrying Margaret and raising his family. Howard worked for General Motors for over 30 years. Howard pursued his hobbies with passion, whether it was playing darts or lob ball for the Legion, competing in horseshoes at the Port Perry Fair, curling at the Port Perry Curling Club or sitting around a fire with family and guitars singing Johnny Cash. Howard loved to joke and talk with everyone he met and was referred to as the “Mayor of Prince Albert” by family and friends. Howard’s love of life, sense of humour and homemade fudge will be missed by everyone who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be announced for later this summer. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) Society of Canada at info@pspsociety.ca or 1-888-675-0230.
