BENINGER, Howard
1930 – 2025
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Mr. Howard Francis Beninger of Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the age of 94 years. Howard was born in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, to Erwin and Lue Etta Beninger, and was raised on a farm where he developed a love for sports, particularly hockey, as well as hunting and fishing. These passions stayed with him throughout his life, and he always found peace in the great outdoors. Howard also cherished camping and traveling, exploring the world around him. A dedicated professional, Howard spent over forty years with Revelstoke Building Supplies, he retired in 1995 at the age of 65 years. On August 1, 1959, Howard married Madeleine, and together they raised three children, two sons and a daughter. Following Madeleine’s passing in 1989, Howard found love again with Melanie, whom he married on May 4, 1991. Above all, Howard was a devoted family man who treasured time spent with his children throughout his life. His legacy of hard work, love for his family, and passion for the outdoors will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Howard will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Melanie, his children, Darcy (Lena), Ward (Rhonda) and Carmen (Gary), three grandchildren: Shannon, Danielle and Lauren as well as four great grandchildren: Brooklynn, Jayda, Jaxson and Kadence. Howard was predeceased by his parents, Erwin and Lue Etta, his sister, Dorothy and his first wife, Madeleine. All are welcome to come and pay their respects one hour prior to the Funeral Mass. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 – 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com.
