Obituary of Gerald Addison Box
BOX, Gerald Addison – 87 of Western Shore, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully July14, 2025 at South Shore Regional Hospital.
Born April 28, 1938, in Fredericton N.B., he was the son of Doug and Edie (Henning) Box.
Gerry found his greatest joy on the water and the open road – Sailing, Kayaking, Hunting, Motorcycling with the Maritime Motorcycle Touring Association, Bridgewater Chapter and enjoying the Great Outdoors. In his early years he worked in banking. Later Gerry and Jane owned and operated Boxwood Farm Kennels in Tantallon before retiring and moving to Western Shore NS
He will be remembered for his spirit of adventure, generous heart, and the lives he touched along the way.
He is survived by his son, Steven (Sandra) Box; grandson, Adam Box; granddaughters; Dana (Mark) Chaisson (nee McIvor), Kelsey (John) Kelsey (nee McIvor); step-daughters, Kristine Leppard and Anne Leppard; and his dog, Becky, his constant companion.
Gerry was predeceased by his wife and soulmate Jane Bentley, November 2, 2017. Her loss was devastating to his wellbeing from which he never recovered! Gerry was also predeceased by daughter, Pamela McIvor (nee Box), and son-in-law Scott McIvor.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, N.S. Cremation has taken place. As per Gerry’s wishes, there will be no service. A gathering of family and friends will take place at a later date.
