Gayle Sandra Peart, 76, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital on March 20, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Gayle was born on April 29, 1948, in Toronto, Ontario, to Harold and Bernice Groves. She attended the University of Toronto, where she earned a degree in Physical and Occupational Therapy.
Gayle will be deeply missed by her children, Kalley Peart-Galway (Ken), Kevin Peart (Melissa), and Kristin Peart-Bard (Kyle), as well as her cherished grandchildren: Justin, Morgan, Delaney, Lucas, Jayden, and Benjamin.
Gayle is survived by her brothers, Robert Groves (Carolyn) and Michael Groves (Cindee); and preceded in death by her parents, sister Suzanne Snoeks, and nephew Jamie Groves #15.
Words cannot express the family’s gratitude to Michelle, Margie, and Jonah for their steadfast dedication to Gayle’s daily care and quality of life. Your kindness, companionship, and support brought her and the family immense comfort in recent years. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at The Village at Winston Park, Egerton neighborhood, for their kindness and dedication in caring for Gayle throughout her residency.
The family would also like to extend their deepest appreciation to the incredible medical team at St. Mary’s General Hospital, whose compassionate care provided Gayle and her loved ones much comfort and peace during her final days.
Gayle will be remembered for her easy smile, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She faced her health challenges with incredible strength, never wanting to miss a moment with her children and grandchildren.
A private family memorial service will be held at Corbett Funeral Home on April 12, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospital for Sick Children or St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener in Gayle’s loving memory.
