Obituary of Fred William Soukoreff
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fred William Soukoreff, who passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. Raised in Grand Forks, BC, Fred settled in Markham, ON, where he raised his family and cared for a verdant garden. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen, two daughters, one son, and six adored grandchildren. Known for his reserved and quiet nature, Fred instilled a love of reading, gardening and a diligent work ethic in his children. We give our heartfelt thanks to Fred’s caregivers Timmy (Oluwatimileyin Utomi), the nurses who came to his house daily, and the staff at Markhaven.
A visitation and reception to honour his life will be held at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, located at 166 Main Street in Markham, on Tuesday, April 1st from 11 am to 2 pm. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Fred’s life and legacy. Those wishing to give a donation in his memory are encouraged to donate to the Markham Museum.
