It is with broken hearts that the family of Florence B.
Boles announces her passing. She left this world peacefully on January
18th, 2025 at her home in Flume Ridge, NB surrounded by many loved
ones.
Born in 1929 in Tower Hill, NB she was daughter of the late
Gilbert and Lillian Florence (Johnson) Logan. Florence grew up with
two brothers and five sisters, all predeceased her including her late
twin sister Francis O. Mcarthur.
She recalled many stories of the fun she had growing up in
their house. This included stories of Florence and her twin going to
Murphy’s dance hall on Thursday nights, this is where she
first met her husband Marvin O. Boles of Flume Ridge,
NB.
Florence and Marvin married in December 1946 and spent 52
wonderful years together until he passed in 1998. She continued to
still live in their home by herself and was content with both of her
boys living close by.
Over the span of her lifetime, she had many jobs which
included her hard work at lumber mills, growing gardens, packing
shingles, raking blueberries, picking tips, making wreaths, and
peddling vegetables to name a few. Without a doubt, her most
fulfilling and cherished job was being a loving homemaker and devoted
Mother/Gram/Grammy to her children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren. This is where she found the most joy, spending
time with her loved ones, laughing and making beautiful memories and
enjoying her many hobbies. These hobbies included gardening
vegetables, taking care of her many bright and beautiful flower
gardens and plants, watching all of the different birds that visited
her flowers and bird bath each year, sitting for hours in her porch
near the large windows, baking bread and rolls plus so many different
sweets as well as making meals for her family, decorating the entire
inside of her home for Christmas as well as the outside, knitting
blankets, and enjoying the simple life.
Florence will be remembered fondly by her family as the
very strong, fiercely independent, kind-hearted, and loving soul that
she was. She put her loved ones first, never asked for much, and hated
the thought of being a bother to anyone. She took pride in her
independence and of still being able to live alone in her home at the
age of 95 until her passing.
A loving and devoted mother, she is survived by
her children; Janet Bean of Moncton, N.B., Sheridan (Debbie) Boles of
Flume Ridge, N.B., Larry (Lisa) Boles of Flume Ridge,
N.B.
She lived for her family and was the proud grandmother of
seven grandchildren; Lisa (Will), Janice (Herb), Bradley (Kayla),
Barrett (Katie), Brandon (Megan), Lora (Joel) and thirteen
great-grandchildren; Emma (Sean), Michael, Cody, Dale, Sophie, Ledger,
Sawyer, Skyler, Adeline, Logan, Weston, Bayleigh, and
Ellidy.
Florence is also survived by her son-in-law, David,
grandson-in-law, Clarence and
special niece, Marina Cleghorn.
In addition to her parents, husband and seven siblings,
Florence was predeceased by her daughter Marlene, and grand daughter
Brenda, son-in-law Bernie, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The
family takes great comfort in knowing she has so many loved ones
awaiting her arrival to heavens gates.
To quote Florence “I have lived a
long and happy life and I have loved all my babies. I am ready to go
home.”
She will always be remembered with a smile by the loved
ones she leaves behind.
Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan &
Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N,B. on
Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 2 PM. The family will receive friends at
the funeral home on Thursday, from 12-2 PM.
For those who wish donations in her memory may be made to a
